December 8 2002

SWEATIN IT! A one hour documentary
Canadian Wrestler Daniel Igali is fuelled by a new dream after winning a gold medal at the Sydney Olympics. He wants to build a school in his home village in Nigeria to change the future of the children there.

As he travels across Canada, talking to school kids about his dream, he is overwhelmed with the response. They all want to help. Cents dollars...promises...hugs...rah-rahs all add up. Daniel is thrilled with the success of his "Keep Sweatin'" road show. But on the way, quite unexpectedly, are two highschoolers... Brian Mac and Kelsy Cummings, who volunteer to go all the way with him to Nigeria.

In SWEATIN IT!, director, Lalita Krishna deftly transports you to the heart of Africa via the words and visuals of these zany teens with attitude-plus. You live and breathe their excitement, thrills and endearing moments with her powerful imagery. Delve under the teens personas and tune into their fast-fading illusions when they come face to face with the realities of want versus need

Daniels dream and Brians and Kelsy's awakening
How the two mix and meld is a fascinating one hour of adventure, humour, candour, guts, pride... ...and above all, the realisation...that nothing happens unless anyone, anywhere in this world believes in Sweatin' It!
